What you need to know about Chevy’s Silverado EV First-Edition RST

Chevy unveiled the specs for its first electric pick-up truck: the Silverado EV First-Edition RST. It now joins an array of electric trucks available in the U.S. such as the Ford F-150 Lightning, Rivian R1T, GMC Hummer Truck and Tesla Cybertruck. How does the Silverado EV compare? Let’s dive in.

Chevy Silverado EV price

The Silverado EV First-Edition RST is the first trim of many that Chevrolet plans to roll out. The MSRP is expected to start at $94,500 plus $1,995 DFC, and first deliveries are expected to begin by mid-2024. Relative to other EV trucks, this price is on the more expensive side, although still cheaper than GMC’s Hummer truck:

  • F-150 Lightning XLT: $54,995
  • Rivian R1T: $69,900
  • Tesla Cybertruck: $81,895
  • Chevrolet Silverado EV RST: $94,400
  • GMC Hummer Truck: $96,550

Chevy Silverado EV Range, Battery Size & Charging

While on the pricier side, the Silverado EV comes with range and battery perks. With a range of 440 miles, the Silverado EV First-Edition RST stands out from its competitors, which in comparison have closer to around 300-350 miles of range. It also has a 200-kWh battery pack.

The Silverado EV First-Edition RST is compatible with 350-kWh DC charging stations and drivers of the EV truck will have access to over 100,000 charging stations across North America thanks to GM’s Ultium Charge 360 plan. The First-Edition RST also has the ability to get 100 miles of range in around 10 minutes through DC fast charging. The EV truck will also come with a complimentary Level 2 GM Energy Powershift home charger with 19.2kW of power. If you need assistance installing a charger at home, we can help.

Additionally, 7.2kW of power is available to power whatever is needed when working at a job site, camping or even needing to charge another electric vehicle.

Chevy Silverado EV Features

The Silverado EV First-Edition RST will have a black or white exterior and a black interior. With the power of a true pick-up, it boasts a 754 horsepower and 785 lb-ft torque, and is capable of towing 10,000 pounds, with a payload capacity of 1,300 pounds. It also goes from 0-60 miles per hour in 4.5 seconds.

Some additional features include four-wheel steering, a 17-inch infotainment display screen, Super Cruise with trailering assistance technology, and more. The Silverado EV will also come with Chevrolet’s Multi-Flex Tailgate and 24-inch wheels. It has 10 power outlets on board with a total output of 10.2kW, a proprietary accessory cord, and has the ability to charge other electric vehicles.
